Bargany is a much-loved family home and private garden, originating in the late 18th Century, located between Dailly and Girvan in South Ayrshire.
As you wander around the estate, the colours really do the talking.
Expect a beautiful mix of seasonal blooms and rich greens, with standout moments when everything’s in flower.

History & Restoration
Bargany's Gardens have been growing since the late 1700s. Thomas White and George Robertson put together the original plans back in 1774, and over the years, gardeners like W S Gilpin shaped what you see today.
After a devastating storm in winter 1998, Sally Anne Dalrymple Hamilton rolled up her sleeves and brought the whole place back to life.
The results of all that hard work are there for everyone to enjoy now.

What to See
Keep an eye out for some beauties as you wander. The snake bark maple, tulip trees, Chilean flame tree, and magnolias are particular favourites.
And if you're here in cherry blossom season, the path covered in pink blooms is honestly one of the most magical things you'll see.
In the Walled Garden, you can still spot the remains of John Hay's old 'pineapple house' from around 1818, foundations and all.
